The search dialog builds a question out of conditions — field, operator, value — runs it against
the grid, and can save it as a folder you click again later. It is the most capable thing in the
application, and worth ten minutes of anybody’s time.
No screenshot. The dialog is raised from a grid’s toolbar and grows as conditions are
added, so a single picture would not show it. Every control is named below, in the order you use them.

Where to find it
The search action on Listings,
Listing Templates or Sales. Which fields are
offered depends on which grid you opened it from.
Starting from a saved search
| Control | What it does |

| Select saved search | Loads a search you saved before, conditions and all. Change it and run it, or save it again under a new name. |
| The bin icon | Deletes the saved search. It does not delete anything the search found. |
Building one condition

| Select search field | What to search on — any column the grid knows, including your custom fields. |
| Select operator | How to compare. What is offered depends on the field’s type: text fields get the text comparisons, numbers and dates get the range ones. |
| The value box or boxes | One box for most operators; two — a starting and an ending value — for a range. Where the field has a fixed set of values, it becomes a Select value dropdown instead of a box. |
| Add another condition | Puts the condition you have built into the list below and clears the boxes for the next one. |
| Clear condition | Empties the boxes without adding anything. |
The four switches
| Switch | What it means |

| All conditions must be satisfied | On, an item must match every condition. Off, matching any one is enough. This is the difference between “and” and “or”, and it is the setting people get wrong. |
| Search within selected folder/Search Results | Searches inside what is already on screen rather than everything. This is how you narrow a result step by step. |
| Case sensitive search? | Whether upper and lower case have to match. |
| Within Selected Site / account? | Limits the search to the site and account currently chosen. |
The conditions you have added
Once you add one, the dialog says Number of Conditions added so far and lists them:
Name, Operator, Starting Value, Ending

Clicking a row takes that condition back out of the list and into the editor above. That is
how you correct one — but it means an accidental click removes it from the search until you press
Add another condition again.

Running and saving

| Search | Runs the search and filters the grid. |
| Save as (the box) | The name to save this search under, and it becomes a saved search in the folder drawer. |
| Save | Saves it. It refuses with Name under which to save the search must be entered if the box is empty, and A saved search must have at least one condition if you have added none. |
| Cancel | Closes and changes nothing. |
A saved search is a question, not a folder of items. It is answered again every time you
click it, so a listing that starts matching tomorrow appears in it tomorrow, and one that stops matching
drops out. That is what makes them worth building.

How to build a two-condition search and save it
- Open the search dialog from the grid.
- Choose the first field in Select search field.
- Choose an operator, and type the value.
- Click Add another condition. The condition appears in the list.
- Build the second condition the same way and add it.
- Tick All conditions must be satisfied if both must hold.
- Click Search to see the answer.
- Type a name into Save as and click Save. It joins Saved Searches in the folder drawer.
FAQ
Q: My search returns far too much.
A: All conditions must be satisfied is off, so anything matching
any one condition is returned. Turn it on.

A: You clicked its row, which loads it back into the editor. Press Add

A: The list is the columns for the grid you opened this from. Some fields exist only
on listings, some only on sales.
