Listing Switches

← All WonderLister user guides

A row of switches on the listing that answer the yes-or-no questions eBay asks about it: tax, best offers,
privacy, which other eBay sites may show it, and what happens when eBay would renew it. Plus a notes box
that only you ever see.

No screenshot. This is a control inside the listing editor’s Listing Options section, not a screen of its own, and that
section is photographed whole in its own guide. Every part of the control is named below.

Where to find it

In the listing editor’s Listing Options section, above the
category-specific upgrades that guide describes.

The switches

Switch What it does
Use Tax Table? Applies the tax table held on your eBay account rather than no tax at all.
Enable Best Offer? Lets buyers make an offer. Greyed out in categories and formats where eBay does not support best offers. It can be hidden entirely from Preferences.
Private? Hides the buyer’s user id on the item page — for items buyers would rather not be seen buying.
Intl Site Visibility – UK? Shows the listing on eBay UK as well.
Intl Site Visibility – Australia? The same for eBay Australia.
Intl Site Visibility – NA? The same for North America.
End Listing before eBay auto renewal? Ends the listing rather than letting eBay renew it automatically. Use it where a renewal would cost you a fee you did not intend.

The two best-offer prices

Turn Enable Best Offer? on and, where eBay supports them for this listing, two more fields
appear:

Field What it does
Auto decline offers less than Anything below this is refused automatically, without reaching you.
Automatically accept best offers of at least Anything at or above this is accepted automatically, and the item sells.
The two prices only appear when eBay supports them. Auto-decline and auto-accept are
offered per category and format; where eBay does not support one, its field is not drawn at all. A missing
field is eBay’s answer, not a fault.

Notes

A five-line box at the foot for anything you want to remember about this listing. It is yours — it is
never sent to eBay and no buyer sees it. It can be hidden from Preferences.

How to set up automatic best offers

  1. Turn Enable Best Offer? on.
  2. Type the lowest offer worth your attention into Auto decline offers less than.
  3. Type the price you would take without thinking into Automatically accept best offers of at least.
  4. Save the listing. Offers between the two figures are the only ones that reach you.

FAQ

Q: Enable Best Offer? is greyed out.
A: eBay does not support best offers for this category or format. Change the
category or the format and it becomes available.
Q: I cannot see the Best Offer switch at all.
A: It is hidden in Preferences. The same is true of
the notes box.
Q: Does international site visibility cost anything?
A: eBay charges for it on some sites. Check what your marketplace charges before
turning all three on.
Q: What does the tax table switch actually use?
A: The tax table held on your eBay account, not anything set here.
Q: Are the notes searchable?
A: They can be added as a search field — see
Select Search Fields.
