Select Store Category

← All WonderLister user guides

If you have an eBay Store, its categories are your own shelves — a structure you control, separate
from eBay’s category tree. A listing may sit in up to two of them, and this control chooses one.

No screenshot. This is a control inside the listing editor’s Store Categories section, not a screen of its own, and that
section is photographed whole in its own guide. Every part of the control is named below.

Where to find it

In the listing editor’s Store Categories section, where the control
appears twice — labelled Select First Store Category and Select Second Store
Category
.

What is on it

Control What it does
Select First Store Category The listing’s main store category.
Select Second Store Category An optional second one.
The clear (×) Takes the listing out of that store category.

Each entry reads name (id), so two categories with the same name in different parts of the store
can be told apart.

Store categories belong to the eBay account. The list is fetched for the account set in
Account & Site, so changing the account changes what is offered. If
you have no eBay Store, the list is empty and there is nothing to choose — that is not a fault.

How to file a listing in your store

  1. Check the account in Account & Site.
  2. Open Select First Store Category and click the category.
  3. Add a second one if the item belongs in two places.
  4. Save the listing.

FAQ

Q: The dropdown is empty.
A: The account has no eBay Store, or the store categories have not been fetched.
See Store Categories, and
Refresh Store in the desktop application.
Q: I made a new store category on eBay.
A: Refresh the store so the new category is known here.
Q: Is this the same as the eBay category?
A: No. Select Category chooses eBay’s own
category, which decides fees and item specifics. Store categories are just your shop’s
organisation.
Q: Can I use more than two?
A: eBay allows two per listing.
