Brings down your eBay Store — its name and, more usefully, its categories, so you can file listings into the right part of your shop.
A heading and a Start Refresh button — the work happens in the background.
Where to find it
Open eBay Sync from the application bar and choose
Refresh Store in the list on the left. Press Start Refresh.
Why you would run it
- You have added or renamed a store category on eBay and it is not offered on a listing.
- You have just opened an eBay Store, or changed its subscription level.
- The Store Categories section of the listing editor looks out of
date.
You need an eBay Store for this to bring anything down. Store categories are a Store
feature; without one there is nothing for eBay to send.
feature; without one there is nothing for eBay to send.
How a refresh runs
Pressing Start Refresh queues the work and hands you back the application — it does not sit
and wait. The button is disabled while the request is being sent, then the work goes on in the background.
- Watch it in Activity Logs.
- You are e-mailed when it finishes, unless you have turned those e-mails off in
Preferences. - Running it twice does no harm, but it does no good either while the first run is still
going.

Q: How often should I run this?
A: When something is missing or out of date, rather than on a schedule. There is no
harm in running it, but there is no benefit in running it for its own sake.
