Select Responsible Persons

← All WonderLister user guides

The Select Responsible Persons block names the EU-based business or businesses accountable
for the product’s compliance. It is the one block in the
General Product Safety Regulations section that takes more than one record.

No screenshot. This is a block inside the listing editor’s
General Product Safety Regulations section rather than a screen of its own, and
the section is photographed whole in that guide. Every control in the block is named below.

Where to find it

In a listing’s General Product Safety Regulations section, in the
Responsible Persons block.

What is on it

Control What it does
Select Responsible Persons A dropdown you can tick more than one entry in. Each entry is a record’s Company Name.
The line beneath Lists the companies you have chosen, so the selection is readable without opening the dropdown.
The clear (×) Removes every choice at once.

Manage and Refresh

Control What it does
Manage Opens Manage Responsible Persons in a dialog, without leaving the listing. Close it and the list here is reloaded, so a record you have just created is immediately choosable.
Refresh Fetches the list again. Use it when a record was added somewhere else — another tab, the desktop application, a colleague’s machine.
Choosing here does not save the listing. The choice is held on the listing in front of you;
it reaches eBay when you save it.

How to set them

  1. Open the Select Responsible Persons dropdown.
  2. Tick each business that answers for this product in the EU.
  3. Click away to close the dropdown and check the line beneath.
  4. Save the listing.

FAQ

Q: How many should I choose?
A: Usually one — the importer. More than one is for products brought in
through more than one route.
Q: The dropdown is empty.
A: Click Manage and create a record.
Q: Is the manufacturer automatically the responsible person?
A: Only when the manufacturer is itself established in the EU. Otherwise the
responsible person is the importer or an authorised representative, and has to be named
separately.
Q: I added a record in another tab.
A: Click Refresh.
