Select a Product

← All WonderLister user guides

The results of an eBay catalogue search, one row per product eBay thinks you might mean. Picking one fills
the listing from eBay’s record of that product.

No screenshot. The table only exists after a live eBay catalogue search, which the capture
run does not perform. Its six columns and two buttons are described below.

Where to find it

It opens by itself after a search in Search eBay Catalog. The dialog is
titled Select a product.

The columns

Column What it holds
Image eBay’s stock photograph, or No Image where the catalogue has none. This is the fastest way to tell two similar products apart.
Brand The manufacturer as eBay records it.
MPN The manufacturer’s part numbers — a product may have several, and all are listed.
GTIN The barcode numbers, again possibly several.
Title eBay’s own title for the product.
Details An open-in-new-window icon that opens eBay’s page for the product, so you can check before choosing. A red warning triangle means eBay published no page for it.

The two buttons

Button What it does
Select Takes the highlighted row. With no row selected it answers Please select a product.
Cancel Closes without changing the listing.
Check the product before you take it. The catalogue holds near-identical entries for
different capacities, colours and model years, and choosing the wrong one puts the wrong specifics on your
listing. The Details icon opens eBay’s page for the row in a new tab — a few seconds
well spent.

How to choose a product

  1. Read down the Image and Title columns for the obvious match.
  2. Check the GTIN or MPN against the item in your hand.
  3. Click the Details icon if you are unsure.
  4. Click the row to select it.
  5. Click Select. The listing is filled in from eBay’s record.

the stock pictures and the item specifics eBay holds.
Q: I chose the wrong one.
A: Search again and choose the right one, or correct the fields by hand before
saving.
