Regulatory documents are the files a product carries by law — a declaration of
conformity, a safety data sheet, a user manual. You upload each one once, it is stored against your eBay
account, and from then on you attach it to as many listings as it applies to. Nothing here belongs to a
single listing.

Where to find it
- Click Settings on the top bar. The settings drawer opens.
- Click GPSR, then Regulatory Documents in the menu that drops down.
The same screen is a section of the settings page, under Regulatory Documents in its left-hand list, and
the Manage link inside the matching block of a listing’s
General Product Safety Regulations section opens it too.
The screen repeats the rule it exists for: under the General Product Safety Regulation, in force since
13 December 2024, sellers operating in — or shipping to — EU countries or
Northern Ireland can be required to provide regulatory document information on their listings.

The columns

| Document Type | What kind of document it is, from the fixed list below. |

| Languages | The languages the document is written in. |
| Date Uploaded | When it was uploaded. |
Uploading a document
Add opens Upload Regulatory Document. It asks four things and will not
upload until the first three are answered.

| Select Languages | One or more of English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portugese, Spanish and Other. Select all takes the lot. At least one is required. |
| The drop zone | Drag a file onto it or click it to browse. One file at a time, and it must be a .jpg, .jpeg, .png or .pdf of no more than 7 MB. On the desktop application it says click to select a file, because there is nothing to drag from. |
| Upload | Sends the file. Greyed out until a file is chosen. |
| Clear | Forgets the chosen file so you can pick another. |
| Cancel | Closes the dialog without uploading. |
7 MB is eBay’s limit, not ours. A larger file is refused before anything is sent. A
long PDF manual is the usual offender; export it at a lower resolution and try again.

How to upload a document
- Click Add.
- Choose the eBay account in Select Account.
- Choose what the file is in Select Document Type.
- Tick every language the document is written in under Select Languages.
- Drag the file onto the drop zone, or click it and browse to the file. Its name appears in the panel.
- Click Upload. The dialog says Uploading file. Please wait…, then closes, and the new row appears in the table.
How to remove a document
- Click the document’s row to select it.
- Click Delete.
- Answer Yes, I’m sure to the question that names the file.
FAQ
Q: There is no Edit button.
A: There is nothing to edit — the record is the file eBay holds. To correct a
document, upload the corrected file and delete the old one.

Q: I uploaded it and it is not on my listing.
A: Uploading only puts the file in the library. Attach it to the listing in the
Select Documents block of the listing’s
GPSR section, then save the listing.

Q: Can one document cover several listings?
A: Yes, and that is the point of uploading it here. Attach the same document to as
many listings as it applies to.

Q: I have two eBay accounts.
A: Documents belong to the account they were uploaded to. Upload the file once per

Q: Which types does eBay expect?
A: That depends on the product and the marketplace. The list here is eBay’s own; if
in doubt, Declaration of Conformity and Safety data sheet are the two
most often asked for.
