When you end a live listing before its time, eBay requires a reason. Select End Reason is
the small dialog that asks for it, and it is the last thing between you and the listing coming down.
No screenshot. The dialog only appears on the way to ending a live listing, and the capture
run does not end live listings. It is a list of six choices and two buttons; all of them are below.

Where to find it
- Open Listings.
- Select the listing or listings you want to end.
- Choose End from the toolbar.
If your account is not permitted to end listings, you are told You are not authorized to end
listings and the dialog does not open.
The six reasons
| Reason | When to use it |
|---|---|
| The item was lost or broken | The goods no longer exist, or are no longer saleable. |
| The item is no longer available for sale | You still have it but are not selling it — sold elsewhere, withdrawn, reserved. |
| There was an error in start price, Buy It Now price or reserve price | A pricing mistake. Use this one when the price is why you are ending it. |
| There was an error in the listing (other than price) | Any other mistake — wrong photographs, wrong description, wrong variant. |
| Sell to highest bidder (Applies to Auctions only) | Ends an auction now and sells to whoever is currently the highest bidder. Only meaningful on an auction with bids. |
| Sold | The item sold, elsewhere. |
The buttons
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| OK | Ends the selected listings with the chosen reason. It is greyed out until a reason is chosen. |
| Cancel | Closes the dialog and ends nothing. |
Ending is not undoing. The listing comes down on eBay and cannot be put back as it was;
you re-list it, which is a new listing with a new number. Where you only want to correct something, revise
the listing instead of ending it.

How to end a listing

- Watch Activity Logs for the result — the ending itself happens at eBay.
FAQ
Q: OK is greyed out.
A: No reason is chosen yet. Click one of the six.
Q: Does the reason matter?
A: To eBay, yes. Sell to highest bidder completes a sale rather
than cancelling one, and the error reasons are what eBay expects when a mistake is being corrected.

Q: Can I end several listings at once?
A: Yes — select them all first. One reason is applied to the lot.
Q: I was told I am not authorized.
A: Ending listings is a permission. An administrator sets it on
