Payment Policy (in the listing editor)

← All WonderLister user guides

eBay business policies are reusable sets of terms held on your eBay account. The
Payment Policy section of the listing editor picks which of your payment policies this
listing uses — how the buyer pays, whether immediate payment is required, and the terms shown on the item
page.

This section chooses a policy. The policies themselves are created and edited on the
Payment Policies page.

Where to find it

Open a listing in the editor and scroll to Payment Policy, or click it in the editor’s
left-hand section list.

The Payment Policy section of the listing editor

The policy picker, the Manage link and the Show details switch.

What is on this section

Control What it does
Select Payment Policy The payment policies held on the chosen eBay account for the chosen site. Only policies belonging to that account and site are offered.
Manage Opens the Payment Policies page, where policies are created, edited and deleted.
Show details A switch. Turned on, the chosen policy’s terms are displayed below the picker, read only
it is there so you can check what a policy says without leaving the listing. To change the terms,
use Manage.
Account and site come first. Business policies belong to an eBay account and a
marketplace, so until both are set in Account & Site this section shows a message
saying which one is missing: “Please select an eBay account first.”,
“Please select eBay site first.”, or both.

How to use it

  1. Set the account and site in Account & Site.
  2. Choose the policy from the dropdown.
  3. Turn on Show details if you want to confirm the terms.
  4. Use Manage if the policy you need does not exist yet, then come back and choose it.

FAQ

Q: The section shows a message instead of a dropdown.
A: The eBay account, the site, or both are not set. Fill them in on
Account & Site.
Q: The list is empty.
A: That account has no payment policies for that site, or WonderLister’s copy of
them is stale. Create one from Manage, or refresh your business policies from
eBay Sync.
Q: I turned on Show details but cannot edit anything.
A: That panel is deliberately read-only — it is for checking, not editing. Use
Manage to change a policy.
Q: I edited a policy — do my live listings change?
A: A business policy is held on eBay and shared by every listing that uses it, so
editing it affects them all. Create a new policy instead if you only want to change one listing.
