Manufacturer Editor

← All WonderLister user guides

The Manufacturer Editor is the small form behind Add and
Edit on Manage Manufacturers. It is one company name
and one postal address — the details a buyer in the EU is entitled to be given about who made the
product.

No screenshot. This dialog is opened from a screen the capture run cannot reach, Manage Manufacturers, and the capture run
photographs routed pages and the dialogs a page toolbar opens rather than ones behind a menu.
Everything on it is named below, in the order it appears on screen.

Where to find it

Open Manage Manufacturers and click Add, or select a
row and click Edit.

The fields

Field What it is
Company Name The registered name. This is the only field the editor insists on, and it is the name the picker on a listing shows you, so write it as it should appear to a buyer.
Address Line 1 Street and number.
Address Line 2 The rest of the street address, where there is any.
City Town or city.
State/Province State, province or county.
Zip / Postal Code Postcode.
Select Country Chosen from the country list, not typed.
Telephone A contact number.
Email A contact address.

Save and Cancel

Save checks the form and closes the dialog; the record is written by the screen underneath,
which then says Manufacturer successfully saved. Cancel closes the dialog and
writes nothing.

Only Company Name is enforced. Leave it empty and Save answers Company name must be
entered
and stays open. Everything else is accepted as typed — including an address eBay may
later reject — so check the postcode and the country yourself.

How to fill it in

  1. Type the registered Company Name.
  2. Type the street address into Address Line 1 and, if needed, Address Line 2.
  3. Fill in City, State/Province and Zip / Postal Code.
  4. Pick the country from Select Country.
  5. Add a Telephone and Email a buyer could actually use.
  6. Click Save.

FAQ

Q: Save does nothing.
A: Look at the message at the top of the dialog. The company name is missing.
Q: Must I give a phone number and an email?
A: This form does not insist, but the regulation is about being contactable, and
eBay may refuse a listing whose manufacturer has no means of contact.
Q: The country I want is not in the list.
A: The list is the one eBay publishes. If a country is genuinely missing, tell
support — the list is refreshed from eBay.
Q: Is this the same form as the responsible person?
A: The same fields, a different record and a different purpose. See
Responsible Person Editor.
