Select Item Specific Values

The multiple-choice version of the item specific picker: for a specific that accepts several answers —
Features, Compatible Models, Material — you tick as many as apply and then press Done
selecting
.

No screenshot. This is a control inside the listing editor’s Item Specifics section, not a screen of its own, and that
section is photographed whole in its own guide. Every part of the control is named below.

Where to find it

In the listing editor’s Item Specifics section, on each multi-value specific.

What is on it

Control What it does
Show <name> values Starting with The first-letter filter, 0–9 then A–Z. Shown only when eBay offers more than a hundred values.
The values dropdown Tick as many as apply. Select all takes everything currently listed.
Done selecting Applies your ticks to the listing. Nothing is applied until you press it.
Done selecting is the step people miss. Ticking values in the dropdown changes nothing on
its own — the button is what puts them on the listing. Pressing it with nothing ticked does nothing at
all.
Select all only takes what is currently shown. With a letter filter in use, that is the
values beginning with that letter, not every value there is.

How to fill in a multi-value specific

  1. If a Starting with dropdown is shown, pick a first character.
  2. Open the values dropdown and tick everything that applies.
  3. Click Done selecting.
  4. To add values under another letter, pick that letter and repeat.
  5. Save the listing.

FAQ

Q: I ticked values and they did not stick.
A: Press Done selecting.
Q: How many values may I choose?
A: eBay sets a limit per specific and refuses the listing if it is exceeded. Choose
the ones that genuinely apply rather than everything plausible.
Q: Can I pick values from more than one letter?
A: Yes. Do one letter, press Done selecting, then change the
letter and do the next.
Q: Where do these values come from?
A: eBay, for the listing’s category and site.
