Account & Site

← All WonderLister user guides

Account & Site is the first section of the listing editor. It decides
which eBay account the listing is created under and which eBay site (marketplace)
it is listed on. Almost everything below it depends on these two choices, so this is the section to
set first.

Where to find it

Open a listing from the Listings or Listing Templates grid — select a
row and choose Edit, or double-click the row. Account & Site is the first block on
the page, and the first entry in the editor’s left-hand section list.

What is on this section

Control What it does
Select Account Chooses the eBay account this listing belongs to. The list holds the eBay accounts you have
linked to WonderLister. The field is strict — you can only pick a value that is in the
list — and it can be cleared.
Manage (under the account) Opens Manage eBay Accounts, where accounts are linked, re-authorised and removed.
Refresh (under the account) Re-reads the account list. Use it after linking a new account so it appears without reopening the editor.
Select Site Chooses the eBay marketplace — eBay US, eBay UK and so on. The site governs the currency, the
category tree, the business policies and the item specifics offered further down the page.
Manage / Refresh (under the site) Open the eBay Sites page, and re-read the list of sites.
Search eBay Catalog Appears once an account and a site are chosen and the listing is not already matched to a
catalog product. It opens the catalog search, where picking a product fills in the title, pictures
and item specifics from eBay’s own product data.
Selected catalog product / See details Shown only when the listing is matched to a catalog product. The title of the matched product is
displayed, and See details opens that product’s page on eBay in a new tab.
Set these before anything else. The category tree, store categories, business policies
and item specifics are all loaded for the chosen account and site. Changing either one after you have
filled the rest of the listing means those lists are re-fetched, and choices that no longer exist on the
new site are dropped.

How to use it

  1. Choose the account. Pick the eBay account from Select Account. If the
account you want is missing, use Manage to link it, then Refresh.
  2. Choose the site. Pick the marketplace from Select Site. The sections
    below reload for that site.
  3. Optionally match a catalog product. Click Search eBay Catalog and
search for the product. Matching saves filling in item specifics by hand.
  4. Carry on down the page to Main details.

FAQ

A: Store categories belong to an eBay Store, which belongs to an account. Choose the
account here and the store categories appear.
Q: Why can’t I change the account or site on this listing?

an item live on eBay cannot be moved to another account or marketplace. End it, or duplicate it into a
new listing, to list on a different account or site.
Q: I don’t see the “Search eBay Catalog” link.
A: It only appears when both an account and a site are chosen and the listing is not
already matched to a catalog product.
